According to Clek Media Inc., the domain name fund.com has been buyed by Fund.com Inc., an online financial information publisher formely named Meade Technologies Inc. This all-cash transaction was valued at $9,999,950. Previous sale record was business.com, sold for $7.5 million.
The recent years reflect domain names as a more valuable market for businesses and financial investors. Creditcards.com and creditcheck.com were sold respectively for $2,750,000 in 2004 and $3,000,000 in 2007. Domains related to alcohol industry also appear to be a buoyant market with significant sales, such as beer.com ($7 mln in 2007), vodka.com ($3 mln in 2006) and wine.com ($2,9 mln in 1999).
